Member code of conduct

Earning any of our credentials is a commitment to practise professionally and honestly. These are the standards we ask every holder to uphold, whether they hold the C.L.C.P, C.C.D.C, C.M.S.

1. Honesty and integrity

Quote fairly, bill accurately, and never charge for work you did not do. Be transparent about what is included in a job, what costs extra, and how cancellations and refunds are handled. Stand behind your work.

2. Care for client property

Treat every client's home or premises with respect. Use appropriate products and methods, take care to avoid damage, and report any accidental breakage promptly and honestly. Keep anything you are entrusted with, including keys and access codes, secure.

3. Confidentiality

Respect client privacy. Do not share what you see inside a client's home or business, and keep client details and access information private and secure.

4. Safe and compliant operation

Operate within the law where you practise. Maintain any registration and professional indemnity cover your work requires, hold client information securely, and know the point at which a client needs a therapist, a doctor or a lawyer rather than a coach. Refer rather than continue.

5. Honest representation of the credential

Present your credential accurately, as recognition of completed training and a passed examination. Do not describe it as a government licence, do not imply it authorises clinical or therapeutic work, and do not promise outcomes you cannot control.

6. Fair treatment of any team

If you employ or subcontract cleaners, treat them fairly, pay them properly and on time, and provide the training and equipment they need to do the job safely and well.

7. Accountability

Put things right when they go wrong. Respond to reasonable client concerns in good faith, and conduct yourself in a way that reflects well on the wider profession.
